Demo Loupes and Master Loupes

Overview

During the demonstration, the representative may use either demo loupes or master loupes.

Both are used to help the clinician experience magnification before placing an order. The main difference between them is the ability to adjust the optical positioning during the demo.

Demo Loupes

Demo loupes are fixed demonstration units.

They allow the clinician to try a specific loupe type and magnification, but the optical positioning is fixed.

Demo loupes are often used when the representative feels confident selecting a unit that is close enough to the clinician’s needs and can provide a good impression of the product.

Master Loupes

Master loupes provide additional flexibility during the demo.

Unlike demo loupes, master loupes allow the representative to adjust:

• pupil distance (PD)
• pupil height / barrel height, to account for different nose bridge heights

This makes them especially useful when the available demo loupe does not match the clinician well enough, or when the representative wants to create a more accurate demonstration.

Master loupes do not adjust declination angle.

Working Distance of Demo and Master Loupes

Both demo loupes and master loupes are set at a working distance of exactly 50 cm.

This allows the clinician to experience magnification during the demo, while understanding that the final product will later be customized to their own working distance.

Choosing Between Demo and Master Loupes

Some representatives rely mainly on demo loupes, while others use master loupes more often.

The choice depends on:

• the representative’s experience
• the available demo kit
• how closely a fixed demo loupe matches the clinician

In many cases, experienced representatives may go directly to demo loupes, while master loupes are helpful when more adjustment is needed during the demonstration.

Setting Expectations

It is important to explain to the clinician that the loupes used during the demonstration are not yet customized.

The purpose of the demo is to help the clinician experience the type of magnification and the general feel of the product. Final measurements and customization will take place later, after the clinician has chosen the preferred solution.

This helps avoid confusion and makes the demonstration more effective.
